A review of and giveaway for the high-powered Blendtec Designer 725 Blender. Come and enter to win one of the best blenders on the market today! Prize package sponsored by Blendtec.

Blendtec 725 Designer Blender with Twister Jar

I am about to get all gushy on you so I am giving you fair warning. And it’s not about my kids and how wonderful they are (although they really are wonderful), or my husband and how great he is (although he really is great). It’s not about the amazing support I receive from my fans and readers (although it really is amazing) or the generosity and kindness of my fellow food bloggers (although they really are generous and kind). No, today I am about get rather gushy about a hunk of metal and some plastic. Weird but true, my friends; I am about to wax poetic about a small kitchen appliance. A small but ridiculously powerful Blendtec blender. And I am about to offer you the chance to win one of these beauties for yourself.

I am also giving you fair warning that this will be a rather biassed review. I am all about objectivity but there is simply no being objective about this machine. It’s a little like a teenage crush, or perhaps more like an infatuation. Every time I look at it, it exudes a golden aura and I think I hear angels singing. That is how much I like (love? am obsessed with?) the darn thing. I will find any excuse to use it, just to hear it roar and see it whirl the ingredients at breakneck speeds. Plus it talks to me. It’s my friend.

Okay, so maybe it doesn’t actually talk to me. But it does communicate with me in a manner unlike any other appliance I own. It’s even been known to make me laugh out loud. No, I am not kidding. And I swear I haven’t lost my mind. Believe me, this thing is SO much more than “just a blender”.

Sugar-free Caramel Frappuccino

Creamy Smooth Coffee Drinks with Blendtec

Let me set the stage a little for you. For years we’ve had a blender that was by all accounts a good one. It got good reviews on Amazon and it did what was required of it. It blended things. Okay, so maybe it needed a little coaxing when it was chockfull of ingredients. Maybe I had to jam the lever hard in an effort to get enough power to blend up that frozen fruit or those ice cubes. Honestly, until recently I didn’t know any better. I didn’t know there were better blenders out there and I thought this was as good as it gets. And then my blender began to leak through the bottom, as the rubber ring began to wear out. I began to research blenders and was astonished to discover a whole world of high-powered blenders that did far more than make smoothies and iced coffee drinks. They chopped and ground and diced. And blended. And pureed. And talked to you. Oh, and then cleaned up after themselves. Like a good houseguest.

Really, this Blendtec Designer 725 does all of that. No, I am not kidding. When mine arrived, I took it out of the package and looked for the directions. There weren’t any. There was a recipe and tip booklet, but it contained no instructions as to how to actually work the machine. How strange, I thought, that a company as well respected as Blendtec wouldn’t include instructions. But then I turned it on and the display lit up. It welcomed me to the Blendtec experience and then walked me through a tutorial on how to use the blender. Then it told me to add a drop of soap and a cup of water to the Wildside+ jar and turn it on to allow it to clean itself prior to first use. To put it simply: Mind Blown.

Low Carb Slow Cooker Pumpkin Spice Cake

Make your own nut meals and nut butters with Blendtec

Since then, the Blendtec Designer 725 has been a pleasure to use. Blendtec kindly included the smaller Twister Jar, an addition I would highly recommend for anyone interested in using the blender to its full capacity. Thus far I have made plenty of smoothies, a chilled soup, and some pecan meal. My smoothies have never been so smooth, my chilled soup was delightfully creamy and my pecan meal was fine enough for an upcoming cake recipe. I have designs on trying out pancake and waffle batter and I have no doubts that the Blendtec will rise to every challenge. It is unbelievably powerful, sometimes scarily so! And after every blend, the display tells me some fun little tidbit or other. It really is my friend.

And of course, I’ve been making my Sugar-Free Caramel Frappuccinos. Fat bomb in a glass, that’s what these are. And I would never be able to get them as smooth as a Starbuck’s Frappuccino in my old blender. Not even close!

Blendtec 725 Designer Blender with Twister Jar

The Giveaway

And now you can enter for a chance to win one of these yourself! One winner will receive the Blendtec Designer 725 with Wildside+ Jar AND the Twister Jar ($770 Value!). Trust me, you want this.

*Open to US Residents only.

Disclosure: Blendtec provided me with a Designer 725 blender to review and one to giveaway.

I was just reading in a cookbook how you could save money by making your own coconut butter from shredded coconut. It takes quite a long time in the food processor but only a few minutes in a Blendtech. I am also interested in smoothies.

I have had a BlendTec for a couple of years and truly love it too! Being an older model, mine probably isn’t as fancy but it works amazingly well regardless. I remember balking to my husband about the price when he wanted to get one, but he said that this is the brand of blender they use at Starbucks so it must be good as well as reliable. And I’ll tell you now that even if you don’t win this one, these are worth the investment! It makes cheap blenders ashamed.

Changing the diet to low carb and fat controlled has brought his insulin needs down and we are both loosing weight and feel much better. I don’t own a blender yet and this one sounds amazing but out of my budget. This journey is benefitting many others as well as I am an RN and will be teaching classes on this wonderful way of opening the world of food and nutrition to improve their health. A protein shake. My blender pooped out on me months ago and I haven’t been able to replace it. I miss my post lifting protein shakes!

My garage sale blender is about to bite the dust! I would make an almond milk smoothie with ice cubes and NOT have to rock it back and forth 🙂

Nut butters, those things are so expensive in the store and my food processor just doesn’t work that well.

My trusted mixer is giving up on me and this would be the perfect time to receive a new blender ! I would make smoothies, coconut milk and use it for a lot of Indian delicacies like Idli, dosa batter.

Oh, let me count the ways I could use this beauty… Smoothies, pecan meal for that gorgeous cake, margaritas, soups, pureed veggies for low carb gravy, the list goes on.

I have heard such wonderful things about this blender! What would I make?!? Let’s see, strawberry-chocolate-almond butter smoothie, almond butter, pesto, but let’s face it, that caramel frappucino will be tops on the list!

Oh what a blessing that would be! Never to be stuck holding the “pulse” button down while waiting for a smoothie because that is the ONLY button!

Frozen fruit ‘ice cream’. Nothing but the fruit – cream it up in the blender, voila! SO good!

I would make ice cream. Have been throwing frozen fruit into my old blender and it takes forever to blend it. Then add almond milk and agave syrup. Then refreeze it for my ice cream.

The first thing I would make is sunflower seed ‘flour’. I’m currently using a coffee grinder to grind my sunflower seeds to make flour. It does an ‘okay’ job but the flour still ends up crunchy.
