Donating the proceeds from all of my keto cookbooks to fire and hurricane disaster relief efforts.
I just got the sales report for the first week of this donation effort and I am beyond thrilled by the results. I ran the numbers on all the books and you have helped me raise $4287 in ONE WEEK!
Because I feel that these donations are urgently needed, I have already donated $1250 (some to Louisiana for Hurricane Laura and some to a general fund for wildfire relief). I will be donating more today so the money gets here it is most needed as quickly as possible. But we still have a few days left if you want to purchase a book to help out!
Hey my keto friends,
My heart is heavy right now and I just can’t do a cheery anecdote and recipe post today. Not when my beloved State of Oregon is burning up, when hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes, and when the hits of 2020 just keep coming.
The fires on the west coast are the worst in history, and they are heartbreaking and scary. While we are not in imminent danger here in Portland, the two largest fires are burning just south and east of us and destroying much of the Mt. Hood National Forest.
Many people I know in the suburbs are on evacuation alert. And much of the state is suffering from hazardous air quality. We had gone for a long weekend to a vacation area near Bend, OR, and just as we got there, the smoke moved in. So we stayed one night, packed the car back up, and headed home.
And coming over the top of Mt. Hood was shocking. The smoke was so dense, I could hardly see a few hundred feet in front of me. It was some of the hardest driving I’ve ever done, and I’ve driven in some major blizzards in Boston!
So here’s the deal
My heart aches deeply for those families who have lost their homes.
I want to find ways to help and so from today, Sunday September 13th until Sunday, September 27th, I will be donating all of my royalties from the sale of ALL of my Keto Cookbooks, to fire and hurricane relief.
[Please note that I make about $3 for royalties on my larger cookbooks, and $2 for the smaller ones].
Also know that the only sales I can track are the physical book sales, so this doesn’t apply to kindle and ebook sales. I will be using the NPD Bookscan on Amazon to track these sales (you do not have to purchase through Amazon, since it tracks ALL end-user sales).
As a reference point, the past two weeks have seen sales of over 1600 books, so I hope to donate about $3000 to $4000 dollars to disaster relief.
How can you help?
If you’ve been eyeing any one of my keto cookbooks, now’s the time to buy. Don’t know which one you want? Check out the listings below!
Already have my whole array of cookbooks? Thank you for your support. Perhaps you can grab a copy for a friend. Or simply tell a friend about this donation effort.
Or share this post on social media and try to help me drum up some interest.
Please be safe, everyone, wherever you are.

As a fellow Oregonian (from Southern Oregon) I thank you for this! I will be volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse disaster relief in Jackson County, where thousands of structures were lost in Talent and Phoenix. There are so many ways to give and help…. so buy Carolyn’s cookbooks, or give to the Red Cross, or the Salvation Army, or Samaritan’s Purse or any of the other organizations trying to help all those who are suffering. And please pray for the firefighters and National Guard who continue to help across the West in this horrible fire season.
Thank you, Rhonda! I found a couple of ways to give directly… there’s one for the Rogue Valley and a few for Clackamas and Lane counties and I am going to split some of it up.

I just received your cookbook “Easy Keto Dinners” ! First, thank you for supporting the west coast fire victims, I think it’s wonderful and second, what a beautiful cookbook. I love that it will sit on my counter and I do not have to make any “adjustments” to make it keto. Also, I just love there are pictures for each recipe.

This has been a horribly tough year. Covid, civil unrest, fires and for myself a couple of health issues I could have done without. I don’t usually look for fast passage of time but frankly, I can’t wait for this year to be over and I pray that 2021 will be a better year for all of us. Thank you for doing what you can to help, Carolyn.
