Want a better way to test your ketones? Check out the new Keto Mojo! And I am giving away a monitor and 60 test strips. This post contains affiliate links.
Well friends, I am back home and in my kitchen after a whirlwind book tour for The Everyday Ketogenic Kitchen. And while I’ve been cooking up a storm, I am a wee bit behind on recipe development for the blog. In fact, I’ve actually been working on recipes for cookbook number TWO! But shhhhhh, that little project is still under wraps for right now.
So in lieu of a recipe today, I thought I’d tell you about a new keto product that I purchased lately and that I am really happy with. It’s kind of upped the keto game for me and I like it so much, I thought I’d not only review it for you, but give one away as well.
I recently got my paws on the new Keto Mojo Ketone and Blood Glucose Monitor. And I am loving it!
For the most part, I am quite lazy. And by that I don’t mean that I don’t work hard or exercise hard…because I work insanely hard and I love nothing more than breaking a good sweat. But I do fall into the Lazy Keto category. By which I mean I don’t obsessively track what I eat and I don’t spend inordinate amounts of time calculating my macros. I simply intuitively eat a very low carb, very high fat diet and pretty much hope for the best.
Or at least I used to simply hope for the best. But over the past year or so, I got more interested in knowing how I was actually doing on the keto scale. To that end, I bought some of the urine strips, even though I knew that they were notoriously inaccurate. For a while, they seemed to be pretty reliable, as long as I managed to use them first thing in the morning (and not go to the bathroom in the middle of the night!). I was usually in mild to moderate ketosis, which seemed about right based on what I was eating.
And then they just stopped working altogether. I don’t know if the batch got old, if it was open too long, or what, but suddenly, no matter what I did, my ketones didn’t register at all. I got zero, zip, zilch every time I tested, no matter how on track or off track I ate. Even when I was eating minuscule amounts of carbs…the test strip stayed that disheartening pale shade of tan. I have since discovered that sometimes, when we are well into our keto lives, our body is using this fuel more efficiently and so it stops showing up in our urine. Interesting.
Anyway, through the powers that be (aka Jimmy Moore), I heard of a new product coming out, a new blood ketone/glucose monitor with test strips that weren’t going to cost an arm and a leg. Typically, ketone blood test strips can cost $3 to $4 dollars PER STRIP! And the ones for the Keto Mojo monitor are priced at $1 per strip.
Now….that’s still pretty expensive if you plan to test your ketone levels several times a day. But blood testing for ketones is really the only way to truly know where you stand. I started testing right away when mine arrived and was delighted to discover that despite the negative I was getting on the urine strips, I was a nice solid 2 mmol/L. Moderate ketosis, exactly where I wanted to be.
I actually took mine with me on my book signing tour, because a crazy travel schedule can wreak havoc on one’s diet. I didn’t use it every day, but I checked my ketones every few days, just so I could monitor how I was doing. Since I am used to checking my blood glucose anyway, it was easy to get used to the Keto Mojo monitor. And when I had questions, I just hopped over to the Keto Mojo Facebook page and asked them there. I got almost immediate responses!
Do I think you need a ketone blood monitor? Not necessarily, but it sure is nice to have one. I think they are great for people starting this diet who really need a baseline of how they are doing. And I think it’s really great as a way to check in once in a while and keep tabs on yourself. And if you fall off the wagon and kick yourself out of ketosis, the Keto Mojo is a great way to help you get back on track. In the end, I don’t think anyone needs to test more than once a day, just to see how they are doing. And once you are comfortable with this lifestyle and know what you are doing, you could test as little as once every few days. At that rate…it’s quite reasonable.
To get the Keto Mojo test strips for only $1 per strip, just join the Keto Clarity Club here!
And now, yes, I am giving away a whole Keto Mojo set, sponsored by no one except little old me. Because I really do like this product and will stand behind it with pride! So I am giving away the basic kit that includes the monitor, lancet device and lancets, and 10 ketone strips (valued at $49.95). Then I am going to throw in another vial of 50 ketone strips ($50). Because I want YOU to be successful on your keto journey and I think this product can’t but help!
Oh and if you want to see me actually USE the Keto Mojo monitor, I will be doing a Facebook Live video today sometime around 1pm Pacific. I will post the link here for all to see!

This post could not be more timely. We found out just yesterday that my husband is prediabetic. We are in shock. I have been eating low-carb for 12 years and much of what I have learned and done over the past 12 years has rubbed off on him–and of course, he eats what I eat. But, the interesting part is, that God has fully prepared us for this trial: I have been researching keto over the past few months, just out of curiosity. I asked for your new cookbook for my birthday a few weeks ago… But I had NO idea that we would truly need it, and so quickly! Carolyn, I am so thankful for your work.
Caitlin says

I’ve only used the urine strips and would be curious to see what the readings are using the meter. I’ve been eating Keto a year and am a slow loser due to age and hormones – at times it’s frustrating when the scale does not move. Makes me wonder if I’m consuming a food product that is stalling me.
Shawanda says

I have used the urine test strips before, but stopped when I heard how inaccurate they were. I’m struggling to come back to keto after losing 50 pounds three years ago, then falling off the wagon for the past year. I’ve been doing well, sticking to under 20 carbs a day, but not losing much at all for the last month. This may help me figure out why.
Karey B says
I have been wanting to try testing blood ketones, but I am nervous to poke myself, lol! I still want to try the Kei Mojo because it would be much more reliable than the Ketonix I have, which is not consistent at all! The urine strips, as you said, aren’t very accurate either. Like you, I eat an intuitive/lazy keto diet & it would be nice to know if I’m in ketosis for sure. 🙂
Marilyn Hentz says
Have been really wanting to try these. Husband and I have been doing Keto for 1 1/2 years – he has lot 50 lbs. and me 35. But we’ve been at a stall for awhile now and think these test strips would be very helpful.

Hi,
I lived in the Philippines, but been doing Keto lifestyle for quite awhile now. We don’t have access to ketones tool measurement, I only see most of this in the US, buying from here costs too much too. This would be a great tool, specially if you’re allowing cheat days, and you need to kick back to keto.
Lindsay says
I didn’t even know this was a thing!?! It would be very easy and awsome! It’s amazing the tools that are out there that can help people live healthier, happier lives!
Brenda K says
I have been following the Keto diet (off and on) for the past year. Recently I made a commitment to follow it as a lifestyle, I bought your cookbook and simply love it! It’s so easy to follow and you take all the work out of cooking by using everyday ingredients that I can find in the store. I have NOT tested for Keto numbers, so this would be great in helping me to find my ‘sweet spot’ in the Keto lifestyle. Thanks for all you do Carolyn!
Erin says
I’ve never used a blood test monitor but would love to see how different foods affect me, and also be able to play with the carb level and see what I can tolerate while remaining in ketosis!
Kimberly Funk says
I have used the strips at my nutritionist’s office. Having this at home would be lovely!
Karen says
The “ARness” in me, would LOVE to keep track of my Keto numbers. What an easy, tangible way to keep yourself on track. I’m all in! =))

Thank you for caring about us and doing this giveaway!!!
Angela says
I have never tested my ketones, but would love to!! I think it would help me understand how I’m doing… Thanks!!

What an awesome giveaway. I looked at purchasing this previously. I opted for the ketonix bc it ongoing cost of the strips but found it didn’t work well for me and sent it back. I would love to win this! To this point I am still using strips (been Keto over 6 months), and they work for me, but I know they don’t always work for everyone.

Megan says
I’ve done the urine strips only. This gadget looks amazing!

This will be great to try. Thank you

I would love one of these. I have tested my ketone levels once using my mom’s blood testing kit. It would be awesome to have one of my own so I can monitor my progress. I am also interested how things like almond flour and alcohol affect my ketosis. Thanks for all you do!
Lindsey says
I’ve never tested my ketones before, but I also do lazy keto and it would be nice to know how I was actually doing.
Carla says
I have used test strips for urine before, but not a blood test.

Sarah says
I haven’t ever tested before because of the cost. This looks awesome!
Becky says
Because of cost I’ve not been able to test. I’m so grateful for a chance to win.
Camille says
I have tested my ketones before but I feel like the strips cost too much money to just test when I want to. I wish I could test once a week. Maybe I should do every other week… if I had a monitor and strips given to me I would definitely save every strip and use them sparingly like I’m doing now!
Joy says
What a great idea! I have tested my ketones on and off for years, but with the expense, I don’t do it very often. I’ll have to check out this new lower cost option!

I’ve tested for ketones for medical reasons (I’m a type 1 diabetic); never tried it to “double-check” my low-carb diet, though. Sounds fun!
Rhonda says
I’ve never tried Ketone testing before, but would definitely like to try. Currently I’m testing my blood sugar levels both AM before eating and PM an hour after dinner. Even tho’ I’m not considered diabetic, or even pre-diabetic, I have too much circulating blood sugar. Also, I very rarely feel that I’m in ketosis. Don’t know if it’s a metabolism thing, age, pancreas issues or what. My naturopath and I are trying to get to the bottom of it. This might give us a little more insight into what’s going on.
Liz Waldo says
I have only tested in the very beginning of my keto journey 8 months ago. I keep checking this out and am super interested.
Ashley Goodman says
I would love to use this to keep track of my progress! I have tested my ketones before, but the monitor I have is really costly for the strips, and I haven’t used it in a while because it seemed really inconsistent, making me question its accuracy. Mainly I go off of how I feel. I have been keto for a little over a year, lost 67lbs, and pretty much got rid of all my PCOS symptoms except I’m still trying to overcome infertility! My hubby and I have been trying for 4 years. Your blog, recipes, and now your cookbooks have been vital to my success! Thanks Carolyn for all your hard work and dedication, and for doing giveaways out of the goodness of your own heart!
Carolyn says
I am sorry you are still struggling with infertility, Ashley. That’s really tough. It’s not the same but it took 2 years to get pregnant with my first child so I have an inkling how hard and frustrating it can be.
Sheri Polychrones says
Would lobe to have one of these. My husband a nd i are both trying tok stay on track. We both are at risk for diabetes as i staying on the diet a nd being successful is so important. We live the cookbook and ha ‘ve a greedy made several dishes. Love the me to life.

I have never tested my ketone levels. I’ve been living Keto since early June of this year and have just tried to trust the process and know this is a lifestyle, not something temporary. It would be amazing to actually test from time to time just to have the confidence that I am making the right choices and, you know, science! I started the keto woe on July 15,2017 and I have lost 25 pounds and I feel great. I would love to have a monitor to help me track my progress. Thanks for all the help you give to us.
deb says
I have been following a ketogenic diet for about a year and a half. I’ve never tested my ketones, but would love to start.
Marguerite says
Yes, like you I used the pee strips & after a while they seemed to stop working. I have considered getting a blood ketone monitor, even researched them some, but just haven’t done it yet. So thank you for you Facebook review. It was helpful. As I tend to eat more carbs when I travel, having a blood monitor would help me get right back on track.
Karen Johansen says
Years ago I used to buy Keto strips…. Nope Nada… Now get well oxox
Dana says
I bought your cookbook and have made the steak tips and broccoli soup so far – yum! I have followed your blog for a couple years, actually finding it through the diabetes aspect. I have been interested in/tempted by the KETO monitor. It would be great to win it!
Jenny says
I’ve never tested my ketones but I’ve always wanted to! I’d really like this! 🙂
Lyn says
I would love to win this monitor. I have been LCHF for about 16 months and after losing 27kg I’ve been stalled in my weighloss for the past 4 months. I think this could help me to get things moving again as I have another 10 to 15 kg to lose.
Kelly says
I’ve only use the urine strips. LOL. I think using a monitor would be cool but it’s just really pricey.
Heather Bellman says
I haven’t ever because of the cost associated with testing them with an accurate method.
Lynda R says
Using a blood test would be fun and interesting.
Reaching Medicare status this month, I really need to stay on track and keep excess weight off my joints.
Chrissie Young says
You are taking this world by storm Caroline! Thank you for being such a great inspiration to the getting healthy community.
Viv says
I have tested for ketones but did find the strips got old really fast and the cost of strips were prohibitive! My husband and I just finished mortar washing our house and although I kept up with keto meals (a lot of instant pot help) the first week, we then resorted to cheap (unhealthy) take out for the first time since we started keto in 2003. Boy, it was NOT pretty! My husband gained 15# and I won’t get near the scale! We are back on track and feeling so much better. ( We did save a lot doing the work ourselves… our conciliation!)
Vanessa says
I’ve only ever used the urine strips and know those aren’t best. I’m interested in testing my blood ketones to see if I really am in ketosis. I love data too!
sandy says
Have never tested would love to try.
Toni says
I have tested a few times and seem to have troubles getting into ketosis. I always thought I was but turns out I wasn’t! I’d love a meter to be able to make sure I’m getting into ketosis!
Kristen B says
I’ve used the urine strips, but would love to try the blood ketone meter since I hear it is much more accurate!
Jill Dennis says
I have never tested my ketones before but i would love to to know if i’ve made it into ketosis. This sounds like a wonderful and simple to use device!
Di says
I have just started Keto way of eating. I bought your book and I think this would be a great tool to let me know if I am on the right track and keep me on track. I would have no problem purchasing one but I foster 3 children and I don’t have the money at this time. I know that people will say you get paid to foster but I am a family placement and the paperwork got massively messed up and I have been 8 1/2 months waiting for them to straighten it out with no outcome in the foreseeable future – lot to fit into a nutshell but that is why I can’t purchase it at this time. I have tried to use the urine strips but they don’t work all that well for me and I don’t know if it is my body or the strips not working.
I hope you feel better soon… lots of people are getting colds right now and you were around a lot on the book signing tour….. I am enjoying your book very much.. the photography in it is very nice as well. And on the (shhhh) I hope I will be able to get the next one when it happens (but that should be long enough in the future so I can save some…. yes)
Carolyn says
Thank you, Di, for being a foster parent. You are amazing.
Dale says
Yes! Began Keto WOE with husband in June. Tried the regular strips and have had the same experience you did and also have been just assuming we stay in moderate ketosis. It would be great to know for sure how we are doing. Great product and thank you for the giveaway!
jean Marie says
I’ve tested (usually unsuccessfully) with KetoStix but the blood test strips are out of my price range. If they were less than a dollar a piece, I’d be more inclined to do so.
Cheryl g says
I have tested before but only via the strips. This is intriguing
Katie says
I have only used the urine test strips but even on very low carb days (10-15 net carbs) I only ever tested in the low to low moderate range. It would be interesting to see the difference in testing with this monitor. It’s great to see there is finally a monitor that uses somewhat affordable test strips.
Sarah says
I’m interested in using these because I don’t count macros and I have np idea really if I am getting to where I need to be!
Lisa says
I have only used urine strips, would love to win this one
Jentri K says
My husband and I started Keto back in January after hearing about it from my brother who has been doing the Keto diet for about 5 years. Super excited to discover your cookbook and for this journey my husband and I are on.
Kelly H says
I have to check my ketones for medical reasons (migraines and narcolepsy) so this would be a huge help!
Angel says
I have had a lot of stress lately and would like to be able to see how it is affecting my ketosis, especially since the scale is definitely not my friend right now.
Tanya says
I’ve only tested with keto stix. Would love to use a blood monitor to test.
Stephanie Mewbourn says
I am new to Keto, but I’m super intrigued of its benefits. I have been using the pee strips as well, and then I read that they aren’t very reliable. I think I need a monitor! ? thanks for doing this giveaway!
Anne says
So excited to see who will win! This could help with my motivation.
Jo says
I’ve been eating low carb for 2 years and lost some weight then I moved to Keto and lost some more and was happier eating that way over all. Lately, I’m guessing the stress of traveling and our daughters wedding and being seriously sick stalled me and can’t figure out how to get back to losing again. Going back to what I had been doing isn’t cutting it now and I’m not sure why. I need to look into a ketone monitor. Thanks for your blog and recipes I use them often.
Doris Litman says
I’ve been attempting to follow keto for awhile, but I’m being pretty lazy and I don’t quite have it down yet. But my glucose has improved. I really want a meter to test ketone because I think it might help me stay on track.
I also just bought your cookbook last night. Yours is the first I’ve come across written by a fellow type 2 diabetic doing keto. So thank you! Looking forward to trying the recipes!
Carolyn says
Thank you, Doris!
Sabrina Cooper says
I haven’t been able to afford a meter but I’ve been eating keto for about 4 months. I sure would love to know if I’m actually in ketosis!

I love your recipes, both in your new book and the recipes on your blog! I’ve been following the Keto lifestyle since July 3rd, but haven’t yet tested my ketone levels. As a public school teacher and a mom of 4 high school aged kids (triplets, plus one), buying a monitor isn’t in the budget. I’d love to be able to monitor my levels.
Megan Evans says
I really would like the Keto mojo. I just started tracking my blood glucose and this would be the next step!
Janice Deceder says
I have not keto tested – this would be a great kick start for me. Thank you, Carolyn, for all that you do!!
Anne says
I have only used the iron strips before with the same results of them not working after a certain point. I thought it was because I forgot to replace the cap one day. I am just starting back into a low carb/ketogenic diwt now that my baby is 4 months old and this would be awesome to use to monitor being in the right zone since I am still going to breastfeed. I know that supply can drop significantly with a low carb diet and I’d hate to lose out on feeding my miracle baby!
Laura B. says
Yes, with the urine strips because they’re more affordable.
Christina says
I have never tested my ketone levels. It would be nice to know if I am on the right track. I don’t chase macros, only keep my carbs low, under 20 total per day, and add fat to everything. I don’t loose weight no matter what I do, but my Blood sugars are down and am off some medications. So…here’s to my fingers are crossed for a win! Lol
Grace Cooper says
I started the kept diet after meeting you in Houston. I jump right in on this past monday. Don’t know exactly what I am doing but I did buy the urine strips and by day 3 I am at a moderate level. I guess that is good. My second dinner included your cauliflower rice mushroom risotto. OH MUY BUENO. Would be wonderful to win this kit.
Carolyn says
Hi Grace…so very glad I could be your inspiration. And that you love the risotto!
Pattie says
Monitoring is important with anything you do, especially on a keto diet.

becky stanton says
Wow! Great giveaway! Been wondering if I am actually in ketosis…great review of the product as well.
Soozie says
Urine ketones are notoriously inaccurate. It would be so encouraging to be able to show my patients’ their efforts (with the help of your fabulous book) had paid off and put them into kerosis by measuring their blood ketones with this meter in my office.
Thank you so much for your generosity.
Julie Byers says
No but would love to!
Lynn says
This would be wonderful to have.
Michelle says

Annette says
Many years ago I used strips to test ketones via urine.
Angela Neibel says
I am so glad you are doing this review.
Marilyn says
Yes. I did when i first adapted and when I’m trying out new food.
Theresa says
I just started my keto journey, have tried the urine strips but not sure about results. The strips don’t seem to change color like they are supposed to, and I’m pretty sure it’s too early to be in ketosis, so this meter would be a nice complement to my blood sugar meter.
I was diagnosed as a diabetic a year ago. I keep my blood sugars low by staying low carb and moderately high fat, it seems to be working as my last A1C was 6.2 and my doctor was thrilled….even more so since I did it all without any medications! 😀
Jane P says
New to Keto tracking. This would be great.
Lee says
I’ve never tested my ketone levels, but this looks so cool!
Devorah says
Fingers crossed i win the Keto Mojo since I am now learning and implementing Keto and am diabetic. It would be nice to test both on one monitor. BTW you are so motivating and wonderful in the skills you provide.
Rhonda says
I’ve used the (I’m forgetting the name of it now of course – the little gizmo you blow into to measure your breath ketones). I found it somewhat helpful though I finally stopped measuring my ketones since I got kind of fixated on my measurements. I decided to take a break for a while and just concentrate on enjoying my food and adapting to my new lifestyle. However, I’ve always heard that blood ketone measurements are the most accurate so I would use this probably a few times a week just to keep track of my process.
Sue says
I have not tested blood ketones yet. I want to though, just haven’t been able to prioritize the purchase of a monitor yet! Maybe I will get lucky and win this one! ? If not then hopefully will be able to purchase a kit soon! ??
pattie says
Very informative. Would love to try this monitor.

Kelli says
I would love to try this!
Corey King says
I began the Keto lifestyle back in January and started with the urin strips. Now days I can kind of tell when I’m in and when I’m out. I’ve considered purchasing the breath tester. I know the blood test is most accurate. It would be nice to have a test device to monitor ketones because I plan to introduce carbs back into my diet once I hit my target weight and body fat percentage.
Danielle Kane says
I’ve never tested my ketones before but I think I should. Winning this would be a great start
Amy Melby says
I’d love to try a Ketone monitor. I’ve been doing Keto for 10 months and have only been using the urine strips so it would. E great to see where I’m at.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Dorie DePuy says
I never tested my ketones before but would love to.
Jean Lufi says

Karrisa M. says

Thank you for being so accessible to your readers!

I have the urind strips and they are confusing. I don’t know if high to moderate ketones means I’m in Keto dis or not yet in ketosis. I’m a newbie at week 3.

Thanks for the review! And giveaway!!

I’ve never tested before. Just starting out inKETO. I have your new book and am really looking forward to this lifestyle.
Kati says
I have tested using keto strips, but after a few months on low carb diet, and you have lost 30-50 lbs, your ketone profile changes to the point that the pee strips don’t work any more. I basically tracked when I was losing weight and kept a “symptoms of ketosis” diary, and now I kinda just “know” when I’m in the right place. It doesn’t take much to knock me out of ketosis at this point.
k
Janet says
I have tested using strips, but I think this woul motivate me more

Jamy says
Ahh, testing would help me out enormously.
Karen Molinaro says
I used to test my fasted ketones/glucose every morning and I found it to be a very useful tool in the beginning of my ketogenic journey when I wrote down everything and figured out how I felt correlates with what the numbers said. After awhile, though, it became very expensive and I was only able to afford to test glucose. Around my 6 months of following my ketogenic lifestyle, I purchased a Ketonix (a breath analyzer) and have been using it ever since. I love my Ketonix because I have compared those results to how I feel and it has saved me a lot of money. I listen to a lot of Ketogenic podcasts and read a lot of blogs and always find that they want to know your blood ketone readings. I would love to be able to test my blood again – and winning the Keto Mojo would give me that knowledge.
Kathy Barger says
Your recipies are the Best I have found. Thanks so much for all you do. Finding the Keto lifestyle is the answer to a lifetime of searching for the perfect eating plan. I believe testing blood Ketones is the next I would like to take! You new cookbook is FABULOUS!

Charlie Loxely says
Hi there. Thanks for the contest opportunity. I’d like to receive one of these because although the strips say I’m just barely in ketosis, I am doing everything right, even tracking all my foods by full nutrient breakdown. I’m not doing the diet for weight loss, but because I have epilepsy and want to see if it will help with both seizures and brain fog.
Be well,
Charlie.
Lise says
I’ve used the NovaMax ketone monitor, but these strips are cheaper: enough that the cost of purchasing it would be saved after about 50 tests. I’m considering upgrading when my current supply of strips runs out.
Robyn Garris says
I have never monitored my ketones before, because all of the testers are too expensive for me! I would love to win this!
Sharon L Etheridge says
That’s so awesome! I never heard of such a thing! I have got to google this!
Jamie says
I have never tested my blood ketones before. I’ve used urine strips just to ensure that I get into ketosis, but as many know eventually the urine strips stop working because over time your body begins to use the ketones instead of excreting them thru your urine. I would love to up the ante and start tracking blood concentrations! Thank you for the opportunity to win!
Kathryn says
This seems like a great monitor, and the strips are in a much more affordable range! Thanks for sharing!
Trina C says
Kind of new to LCHF – started in July 2017, and have lost 45 pounds so far. The one thing I love more than eating keto is researching/learning more about keto! Thanks for all the awesome info and recipes. Sooo helpful!!!
paul says
i’ve used the urine strips which seem to vary. this looks much better.
Shar Toliver says
I have been keto for 3 weeks and my husband for 2 months. It is such an amazing way of eating and we have had so many health benefits already. I ordered your cookbook and it arrived on Friday. You did a really nice job with it! The monitor would be super handy too. What a great giveaway! I just wanted to say thanks for all you are doing to help out the Low Carb community.
Ann Reed says
Yes, I test for ketones and have a brand of urine regent strips I like, but read somewhere that they become less accurate once one becomes fat adapted. Total bummer! I have wanted a blood test monitor for a few years, but with test strips costing $4-$6 (and NOT covered by insurance) it was way too pricey for me.
The Club price of $1 per strip is AMAZING! It is something I would definitely continue if I won this Giveaway.
Joan says
I’ve been wanting to test my blood sugar and ketone levels. This would be something new for me and give me some feedback on how effective my diet is.
Heather says
I have tested my ketones twice before, but I was using a urine strip. This kit would be much more efficient and helpful in my keto journey.
Adrienne says
I started my keto journey a little over 2 months ago, and I have utilized your recipes every week. Thank you so much for this site, it is my go to when I’m looking for a new recipe to try or want a specific recipe, I just made your salted caramel brownie cupcakes this weekend and they were amazing.

I have not tested my ketones but would like to have an accurate means to do it.
Court says
No, I have the dual monitor but I never did go ahead and splurge on the $50 pack of testing strips to get a reading. Would be so neat to know!
Julie D says
Have just tested with the urine strips, knowing they aren’t terribly accurate.
Krissy says
yes, with the urine strips only. I would love to try this!

No but I always have wanted too.

I tested at the beginning of my Keto journey, 19 months ago, but it was so expensive! I would love to be able to test at a lower cost.
Jacque says
I’ve used the urine strips in the past, but the results were inconclusive at best, so I would love to try this!
Btw, so you haven’t posted a new recipe since your tour—your book is keeping me plenty busy!!
Annamarie V says
Yes I have used the Ketone urine test strips before but like you said they do stop working after they have been open a while so this would be a great way to monitor.
Kathy says
I have tried the urine test strips and for me they never worked well. This would be a great way to monitor ketones.
Ann Cammack says
I have used the urine strips only. Would love this.
Alie says
I’ve only ever used the strips and like you, have gotten tired of seeing that tan strip stay in place when I know (or hope!) I’m in ketosis.
Thanks for showing this kit!
Sherri Cunningham says
This is an awesome prize! I use the strips and it drives me nuts! I never know if I’m in Ketosis or not. I don’t know if I’ve tasted my Ketones before, but I’ve had some stanky breath ?
Jen says
I haven’t tested before, but I’d like to start
Ruthanne Robertson says
I’ve never tested ketones. Have been thinking about getting a meter. This blog looks really tasty. I’m going to have to try some of these recipes.

I have not used a ketone meter as yet. I have used the strips years ago. It would be nice to have something more accurate. It would also give some addional motivation.
Charelle Rogers says
What a great prize – Wow – Would be awesome in our house xxxx
Erica says
I have been intuitively low-carving but would love to see how accurate I am! I do utilize myfitnesspal but would love to be free from so much tracking.
Maria Dillhunt says
I used the Ketostix for urine testing in the 70’s. They worked for me then, but not any more.
Now I have a Precision Xtra meter and used the blood ketone test strips about once per week at first. Then I got tired of spending so much money on the strips and stopped using them.
I would love to win the Keto Mojo. It’s about time someone came up with a more affordable option. If I don’t win, I will probably buy one.
I have Diabetes 2 and am curious about the accuracy of the Keto Mojo blood glucose testing strips. The meter and strips I used for years have been discontinued and I haven’t yet found a new brand I am happy with. Maybe this will be it.
Thanks for the hosting this givaway! You are the best!!!
Kim Pitts says
I have only used the urine ketone strips. I have been wanting to purchase a glucose/ketone meter. Being keto adapted I no longer can use the strips. I had some sugar problems prior to keto and I would love to track and see where my numbers are now and I’m curious to see what spikes me and what does not.
coll says
I dont believe my keto strips are very accurate. I meet my macros daily and still not in a good range and its been 4 weeks. This would be amazing for me…thank you for offering this contest 🙂
Heather Jones says
Haven’t used the ketostix in years. Was uncertain of the accuracy.
Sonya says
I have used the strips but usually just go with how I am feeling. I am interested to use a monitor even though I must admit that I am a bit of a baby about finger pricks. It would be worth it to know how I am doing.
Holly Grammer says
I have only tested with urine strips, but I’d love to have an accurate measure of my ketones. This sounds perfect!
Nikki Reeves says
I’ve never tested using an actual monitor, always the urine strips. I have the same problem you do, they stop working after the bottle has been open for awhile…turning them into a waste of money! This little device would be really handy!
Jessica N says
I’ve never tested via blood before, but I would love to try this out and see actually how accurate I am! 🙂

I’m pretty new to the Keto lifestyle, and I have never tested myself for ketones before. I’d love to try this ketone tester, and I think it would definitely encourage me to Keto On.

LOVE is the only word I can use to describe your cookbook! Carolyn, you are my new go-to KetoDiet expert. Keep the recipes and information coming. Thanks for all you do!
Stacie says
I just found your Facebook and blog yesterday. I have the urine strips but only used it once, not even sure I was doing it right. I don’t track my macros or anything so this would be a great way to see if I’m eating the way I need to be
Tasha Eldridge says
I’ve only ever tested through the strips and frankly, I don’t think they are always a good indication. I’d like something a bit more precise!
Erin says
Would love to.do this.

I’ve never used strips to test, but I am paranoid about going out of ketosis now that I’m back on a Keto diet after not eating Keto for about 2 months. Hate that ketonflu feeling and trying so hard to not break Keto! ???
Jen says
Just starting thus way of life! Would love to add this to the journey!
Laura Newman says
I would never indulge buying a monitor I would feel guilty. But I would love to have one. I do thm but because of your awesome cookbook and your use of Swerve I am tempted to try keto. Thanks

I’ve been doing LCHF for about a year and a half now. Lost 70 lbs, but I’ve been stalled for awhile now and have started to put weight back on. I think I need to start monitoring my ketone levels.

Hi, I see where the entries are closed now. When will the drawing be? Or has it been already? If so, I missed it 🙁
I hope that you are feeling much better now than when you did the review of the tester. I have been wondering if you were fairing better with some time to be home and hopefully resting some.
Cold weather has set in and I am anxious to look through my books and find some nice warming foods to help deal with the upcoming cold months. I hope the kids will like the new menu (seasonal change in foods).
Carolyn says
Yes, I have to actually choose the winner on the rafflecopter widget and haven’t had a chance to do so. I will do it tomorrow.
Bella D. says
Great review as always. I would agree with you that it is not necessary to use a keto meter but it just helps SO much with knowing where you stand. It has given me actual facts about when I am in ketosis, and that helps me to stay on track. I had doubts between the Keto Mojo or the Precision Xtra and crossed this comparing article before I purchased the mojo http://foodadviceonline.com/keto-mojo-compared-to-precision-xtra/
Steph says
Hi 🙂
Great review! Have you tried the KetoPlot app? It’s an app for logging your Ketone and Glucose readings from your blood meter. I just got it and I have found it really helps motivate me to see all my numbers with the trend. Rather than just focusing on the current number
