I am supposed to be in the middle of a 12 mile run right now. Yep, you read that right, 12 miles. I am training for a half-marathon at the end of May, the Boston Run to Remember, and the plan was to get up early and get out before the rain started. But little Maggie, who is now peacefully asleep in her crib, had me up two times last night with her crying (most likely due to her teeth). Both times, I woke up with a start and because my heart was pounding, I found it hard to go back to sleep. So I turned off the alarm and slept way past my early running time. I may get out there later, I may not. The good thing about training plans is that they can always be adjusted slightly. Let’s just see how the day goes, shall we?
Now, back to more important things, like food. Let’s see what the food blogging world has in store for us today…
I say we start our day with these gorgeous Browned Butter Maple Blueberry Muffins from Elle’s New England Kitchen. She says they taste like pancakes in muffin form.
And since I love all things pastry in mini-form and I adore sticky buns, let’s suppliment our breakfast with a few of these Sticky Pecan Bites from Tracey’s Culinary Adventures.

That was a pretty heavy breakfast we just had, so I think lunch should be healthy and light. How about this Beef and Bok Choy salad from A Spicy Perspective? A great use of bok choy, since when I buy it, I often am at a loss of how to use it. Not any more!
It’s approaching the 5 o’clock hour, I think perhaps it’s time for a cocktail. I am partial to gin, and I’ve never seen or heard of lavendar soda, but if I ever do come across it, I will be making these Gin and Lavendar cocktails from Raptor Toe.
I believe we need an appetizer to go with our cocktail. How about these Gorgonzola Tarts from Liren at Kitchen Confidante?
Time for the main course, perhaps? I can’t wait to try this Tea Smoked Black Cod from Showfood Chef.
We ate so lightly for lunch and we DID go for that 12 mile run today (um, maybe?), I say we allow ourselves two desserts. The first is this middle eastern inspired Coconut Date Couscous Cake from Frugal Antics of a Harried Homemaker. Sweet couscouse, how brilliant is that?
Finally, since tomorrow is Easter, let’s indulge in these super cute Baby Chick Cake Pops from Kumquat.
