Satisfy that sweet tooth in a healthier way with these 21 delicious sugar free recipes.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I don’t just post my recipes here on All Day I Dream About Food. I am lucky to have many outlets for my low carb experimentation, among them my many cookbooks. And if you’re looking for tons of delicious sugar-free desserts, I highly recommend Easy Keto Desserts.
But I also post many recipes on the Swerve Sweetener website. I feel fortunate to have developed a close relationship with the folks at Swerve, because I think it’s one of the best keto sweeteners out there.
I write 3 recipes a month for Swerve and I don’t always post them here on my website. But I don’t want you to miss out on them! So I gathered together the best sugar free desserts that I’ve posted over on Swerve, and a few healthy sugar-free dinners and sides as well.
Enjoy!

I love that several of your recipes call for Bocha Sweet. It’s been the only sweetener so far that comes close for me. Swerve has an aftertaste to me and is a big disappointment. I also love the explanations you give before your recipe posts explaining the whys of your chosen ingredients. Do you do the same in your cookbooks? And do any of your books feature the use of Bocha Sweet? I’m coming to see that all these sweeteners have different properties so this is a learning curve & w/ their cost one doesn’t want to make too many mistakes!
Carolyn says
Interesting you should ask! I am currently writing a section for my big keto baking book (due out in December) all about the various properties of the sweeteners. Bocha sweet is great in ice cream, custards, and sauces. And it’s fine for cakes. But you’re going to be sorely disappointed if you want a crisp cookie, because it won’t crisp up at all. I tried to make meringues with it… total disaster, so soft I could never get them off the parchment. Then I tried again with mostly swerve and a single tablespoon of Bocha Sweet. Same issue.
the reality is if you want a crisp cookie, erythritol is the only thing that works.
Susan-Rae says
Interesting about the crisping properties… I was also just reading about Allulose Plus – Keto Sweetener… have you tried it? In their description they say it browns and caramelizes well. Would that make it a good crisper instead of Erythritol?
Carolyn says
Very doubtful, to be frank. I’e been experimenting a lot with allulose and nothing crisps with it. I put a SINGLE tablespoon in to some meringues I was making, along with mostly erythritol. They stayed like goo and wouldn’t firm up enough to take off the parchment.

Carolyn,
Could you find out the number of servings and the carb count on your Instant Pot Lemon Cheesecake recipe, please? I have just made one, and the recipe, which was on the Pete and Gerry’s site, did not have that info. I kind of need it, as I’m sure you understand.

Thanks, Carolyn. I’ll try to find it again.

Hey my name is deena and I have type 1 diabetes and I’ve looked for years for a sweeter that just didn’t make me spit it out or litterly gag. I’ve tried steviea and all the old ones sweet n low, aspartame. I can drink diet sundrop but not diet coke, diet mt.dew. so I never can find anything else that would agree with me. There’s other sugars out there that are mixed with natural sugar. Is there anything that you can tell me about making desserts with a great sweety taste. Thank you, sorry for the long letter
Carolyn says
Have you tried Swerve? It technically has carbs but they don’t impact blood sugar at all. I can assure you this is the case, since I am pre-diabetic and test my own blood sugar. I also have MANY Type 1 followers who use it.
Juliana says
My problem is that I have a sweet tooth but also have food allergies. I cannot have nuts of any kind, cocoa (no chocolate), or coconut. Noticed almost all recipes have one, the other, or all the above 🙁
Any suggestions or recipes that can help.
Thank you!

Hi Juliana, sunflower seed flour can be substituted for almond flour in many recipes. Add a small amount of lemon juice or vinegar to the recipe so the sunflower seeds don’t turn the finished product green.
