All the best low carb and keto comfort food recipe. Don’t deny yourself this winter. Dig in and stay warm!
New Year’s Resolutions are so very ill timed, if you ask me. Just think about it…it’s January, it’s cold out, the days are short and dreary. You are getting up when it’s dark and coming home when it’s dark and you’re lucky if you see even a little glimpse of sunshine. New Year’s Resolutions usually mean asking your body to give up its favourite foods. Oftentimes it’s the very warm, comforting foods that your body is craving in the winter chill. Maybe we should all just move to Australia, where it’s warm and sunny when January 1st rolls around. Then we would be in a better frame of mind for subsisting on salads and lighter fare.
But for those of us who live in the northern parts of the Northern Hemisphere, it seems unusually cruel to ask us to give up the heavy, warm foods that bring so much comfort in the winter. But there is a solution. Low Carb Comfort Food! The brilliance of it is that it can be heavy, full of cream and cheese and fatty goodness, and yet it still fits into your weight loss goals. Dang, why didn’t somebody think of this earlier???
Honestly, the gang is all here. From soup and stew to nachos and lasagna, your favourite winter comfort foods in all their delicious low carb glory.

I have a question about low-carb eating. All of tis cream, cheese, fatty things, is all of this still good for you if you’re not really doing lowcarb all the way? I mean, I’m still eating carbs at dinner, but a lot less than normal, not for breakfast, lunch or during the day/evening. I barely snack (chips, sweet things) but I think I alrady know thinking about it. I am not losing weight at all, gaining a little and that;s probably because of the cream, cheese, butter etc.
Although people /sites say that eating natural fatty foods are not bad for you, I think they are the reason I’m gaining weight.

Hello Miranda,
I am not a doctor nor a nutritionist so take what I am about to say with a grain of salt… but if you are eating more than 50 grams of carbs daily (for some people this number may be 40, 30, 20…) then your body is not in ketosis; therefore, it is not burning fat for fuel. Instead it is burning glucose. If you are burning glucose and eat a lot of fat there is a really good chance you will gain weight. In order to get the benefits of eating low carb/high fat… you have to eat low carb/high fat consistently.
There MANY really good websites out there that explain this process in detail, just Google it. Don’t be discouraged, educate yourself, check with your doctor and maybe try again the correct way.
Also a little tip, you are probably eating way more carbs than you think… I was! Until I started using a free app to keep track of my eating for a while. Good luck!

OK, so now I’ve run out of printer paper. I even stooped to using up the buff-colored resume paper on the bottom shelf. I really love these posts — not only do I find more of your delicious recipes to try (and I’ve yet to be disappointed!), but you’ve got me poking around other sites, saying, “Wow, that looks good! Ooh, that looks good, too!” You make low carbing a delight. Thank you!

I am so glad, although sorry you’re using up so much paper! 😉
