Chocolate Mousse with Creme Anglaise – Low Carb and Gluten Free

Low Carb Chocolate Mousse with Low Carb Creme AnglaisI created this lovely low carb mousse recipe to celebrate a facelift.  No, silly, not me!  I haven’t had any work done.  My face remains untouched, although not, perhaps, unblemished.  But my good friends over at Swerve Sweetener have had a little facelift recently, and have just unveiled a newly designed website.  It’s lovely over there, all user-friendly with great pictures and recipes and such.  You should head on over and poke around for a bit.  And while you’re at it, check out my Chocolate Mousse with Creme Anglaise recipe, the first guest post on their new blog!

Dessert is good.  Dessert is very, very good.  Dessert is my favourite part of the day.  Perhaps that’s why I indulge in dessert frequently.  At least once a day, sometimes several times a day.  Dessert lifts my spirits and makes my day feel complete.  I was always a sucker for dessert as it was, but now I eat it even more frequently.  Sometimes for breakfast.  And all in the name of my health.  Because when it’s made without sugar or gluten, and has few carbs, it’s just as healthy for me as anything else.  Okay, I could eat another serving of veggies instead of this Chocolate Mousse with Creme Anglais.  Maybe that would be a touch healthier.  I will give that some consideration…after I finish this second helping of dessert.

Serves 6.  Each serving has a total of 7.3 g of carbs and 2 g of fiber.  Total NET CARBS = 5.3 g.  (this includes both the mousse and the creme anglais).

    I’m with you, dessert is my favorite. I usually have it for breakfast – parfaits, dried fruit, pancakes with syrup, that sort of thing. I won’t make it through the day without get in my (healthy) sweet fix!
