This creamy Sugar-Free Honey Mustard Sauce is nothing short of amazing! Tangy and sweet, it’s the perfect dip or dressing for all your keto veggies, salads, and appetizers. And with less than 1 gram carbs per serving, you will want to put it on everything!
To say that I am obsessed with this keto-friendly honey mustard dressing is the understatement of the year. Absolutely and utterly obsessed. I can’t stop licking the spoon as I drizzle it on everything I can think of.
Historically, honey mustard hasn’t been my favorite flavor of dressing or dip. Typically I am a ranch dressing girl. And I love my chunky feta dressing too.
But this easy recipe has made a convert out of me. I knew I would like it, but I didn’t realize I would like it this much. I eat salad for lunch almost every day now, simply so I can eat more of it.
Whip up a batch of sugar-free honey mustard sauce and let’s get dipping!
How can honey mustard be keto?
If you’ve been keto for a while, you likely know that honey isn’t remotely keto friendly. While it’s often touted as better for you than table sugar, it’s not a good choice for a sugar-free diet.
But I’ve discovered a sweetener that I love that really mimics the flavor and consistency of honey. I find myself reaching for this allulose honey frequently for both sweet and savory recipes.
Swaps for allulose honey
Now, you know I like to make my keto recipes as accessible as possible to everyone. Not everyone has access to allulose honey, so I also tested this recipe with Swerve.
I liked the flavor of the Swerve Brown the best, but it doesn’t blend in as well. In the end, I mixed it with some gently warmed avocado oil until it was mostly dissolved, before I added it to the rest of the ingredients. If you choose this route, use 3 tablespoons of Swerve in 2 tablespoons of oil.
If you can get granular allulose or BochaSweet, you can simply use 4 tablespoons whisk it right into the rest of the ingredients, as it dissolves more readily.
Ingredients
- Mustard – I prefer Dijon in this recipe but yellow mustard works too
- Mayonnaise
- Allulose honey – see above for alternatives
- Apple cider vinegar
- Cayenne
How to make Sugar Free Honey Mustard Dressing
- Whisk all of the ingredients together until smooth.
- That’s it.
Pretty complicated stuff! No, really, it is THAT easy. But if you want to thin it out more for salad dressing, simply add another tablespoon of vinegar and a tablespoon or two of avocado or olive oil.
Frequently Asked Questions
It’s all of the above! Sugar free honey mustard is incredibly versatile. Use it for a dip for veggies or wings, drizzled it over meat as a sauce, or use it for salad dressing.
Yes you can. Please see the section entitled Swaps for allulose honey above. You can really use almost any sweetener here but some are trickier to dissolve and I make suggestions in that section.
Absolutely. This keto dip and dressing has nothing in it that will spoil and will store nicely for several weeks. I recommend keeping it in a glass jar in the fridge.
What to serve with keto honey mustard?
I have been drizzling it over salad almost every day, but it’s good in so many ways as a sauce or a dip. Try it with:
- Cheesy Chicken Fritters
- Keto Meatloaf
- Everything Bagel Pull Apart Bread
- Keto Pretzel Bites
- Keto Meatballs
- Salmon Spinach Salad
- Cheddar Jalapeno Meatballs

I’ve used this recipe many times. I don’t care for cayenne in my dressing, but I add dried Dill and garlic powder for enhanced flavor. Thank you for all your recipes, Carolyn!!

This is a great recipe. Being diabetic I have avoided honey mustard sauce. Nice to have found this. I suggest you look into another simple sauce to make, Jezebel Sauce. I have been making it with sugar-free Apricot and sugar-free Peach preserves. There are many recipes for the regular version on Google.

Awesome flavor!!! I will be making this every week.
Claudia says
Thank you! I really miss honey mustard, so I am super happy to have a keto version that I can whip up easily.
BIG thanks also for providing alternatives to allulose products, because allulose still hasn’t been approved in Canada.

Enjoy!

Delicious! I used Choc Zeros honey. Added the extra tablespoon of vinegar. Great for the green salad served with your pizza (pepperoni) recipe. For dessert your Swerve recipe for Blueberry Breakfast bars. A complete ADIDAF lunch. Thank you for all your great recipes.

i was gonna use swerve brown mixed with the oil in place of honey, but I don’t have avocado oil. will olive oil work in place of avocado?
Carolyn says
Sure!
Lisa says
so there’s no oil in it? only add oil if you want to thin it out?
Carolyn says
Yes… given that mayo is made from oil and eggs, there is no need for additional oil.
MARLA says
I will have to try this soon! Can I use ChocZero’s honey?
Carolyn says
You bet!

Hi Carolyn, I am going to do your sausage bites this NYE for a party and wanted to use this dipping sauce. The allulose honey isn’t available but I have the Nature’s Hollow Honey substitute which uses xylitol as it’s main ingredient. Would this be a good sub for the allulose honey?
Many thanks for all you do for us to keep Keto during the holidays and everyday!
Carolyn says
Yup, should be fine!

Allulose honey flavored is no longer available at Amazon. After searching for the company I found out that it’s made China from cornstarch not the natural ingredients that could have been used. Check your info.
Carolyn says
It’s not made from cornstarch.. it’s made from a fermentation of corn with microbes. Corn is a natural ingredient, and the fermentation process means that no corn is left in the final product. Similar to the way grain alcohols no longer contain any grain. Additionally, other sweeteners such as erythritol and xylitol are made by similar processes. I know my info very well. Thanks!

Love your recipes, thanks for sharing!

I have liquid Allulose. Do I need to add anything to it -like the Swerve Brown- to get that “honey” flavor, or would the liquid be sufficient?
Agnes says
Sounds delicious!! All I need is some chicken nuggets or tenders now.

Try looking for it in a local health food store. I have one place in my city that I can buy it – still expensive, but $39 for a 2lb bag. Amazon is not a great place to buy “alternative” products! Now that I know about BochaSweet I cannot do keto without it as it is a total game changer.
