Sometimes it’s fun to play with your food! Make this cute chocolate peanut butter spider web cake for a fun low carb Halloween treat.

I am not really someone who gets into the Halloween spirit. What with the costumes and the emphasis on all things sugary, it’s really not my thing anymore. I suffer through this wacky holiday because my kids love it so much. And then I gird my loins to negotiate with them so that I can take away most of their candy. They get paid for giving it up and they do so pretty willingly now.

But every so often I get inspired to make sugar free Halloween treats, and this low carb spider web cake was so fun. I don’t pretend to be much of a cake decorator, but I think I did an admirable job here. And my kids loved it, even though the spider was pretty rudimentary.

I didn’t actually intend to post about this recipe, so there aren’t any great photos of the inside. I was simply making it as one of my Swerve Sweetener recipes, since I do 3 of them per month. But it was so adorable and I was so pleased with myself, I thought it might be fun to share this one with you. I didn’t get any photos of the inside because I didn’t want to ruin the effect before my kiddos could see it.

This sugar-free chocolate peanut butter cake is made with the new Swerve Chocolate Cake Mix. It’s a fantastic mix and I do recommend them but if you prefer to make your cake from scratch, I have several options for you.

Since it’s only one layer, you could make a half recipe of this Low Carb Chocolate Cake. Just bake it in a single layer. It will take slightly longer than mine did since I did three layers but I think another 5 to 10 minutes would suffice.

If you’d prefer a coconut flour based recipe, then try making my Keto Chocolate Cupcakes as a single layer.

But if you want to give the Swerve cake mix a go, I do highly recommend it. It’s chocolate-y and delicious and no one will know it’s low carb.

Please see my Chocolate Peanut Butter Spider Web Cake on Swerve Sweetener.

Sounds like it might be an issue with your browser, Christine. The Swerve page is loading normally for me. Try looking at some other Swervesweet.com recipes to see if they load for you?
