Try these delicious Keto Blueberry Smoothies for an easy and delicious nutrition boost. Packed with protein and antioxidants. This post is sponsored by Perfect Keto.
The days are getting a little longer and a little brighter, and I am ready for fresher, lighter flavors. Preferably ones that pack a nutritional punch too. Who’s with me?
I am a fair weather smoothie drinker. In other words, I really only enjoy them when it’s warmer out and the sun is shining. But my family loves them and could drink them every day. So I love to make keto smoothies packed full of nutrients and vitamins. Because then I know I am sending them out into the world with at least a little nutrition!
These Blueberry Keto Smoothies are easily the most nutritious that I’ve ever made. They have plenty of protein and antioxidants, and they’re delicious too! They just might get me to enjoy smoothies in both warm AND chilly weather.
Packed with antioxidants
What makes these keto smoothies so special? Well they pack a serious nutritional punch, thanks to the addition of the new Super Reds Antioxidant Blend from Perfect Keto.
They are always coming up with new ways to support your healthy goals. And these new blends (Blueberry Pomegranate and Hibiscus Lemonade) are designed to do just that. They use powerful fruit and vegetable extracts to help fight inflammation and boost natural collagen production.
With only 15 calories and 1 to 2g carbs per serving, Super Reds add back some of the vital nutrients that are often missing on a keto diet. It’s a great way to get a lot of the benefits of fruits with almost none of the sugars!
I’ve been making some fun mocktails with them, but I warn you, they fizz like mad when you first add the sparkling water. Be sure to add just a little of the water, mix it in, and then top up.

Ingredients
- Greek yogurt: Use whole milk Greek yogurt for a thicker, richer smoothie. It also has fewer carbs than reduced fat versions. However, you can also use keto yogurts like Two Good and Ratio. Because they are sweetened, you may want to hold back a tiny bit on the Super Reds blend and taste before you add more.
- Low carb milk: I favor unflavored hemp milk or macadamia nut milk. But you can use low carb dairy milks as well, or even half water and half heavy cream.
- Frozen blueberries: Using frozen berries will help make the smoothie thicker and colder.
- Protein powder: Here’s where you can adjust to suit your needs and taste. I did a combination of whey and collagen proteins. The collagen adds some thick frothiness, which I like in my smoothies. But you can use almost any protein powder you like. I do recommend unflavored so it doesn’t overpower the blueberries.
- Super Reds Blueberry Pomegranate: This powder is a serious nutritional powerhouse and gives your keto smoothies both added flavor and antioxidants. And because it’s sweetened, you don’t need to add any other sweeteners. But please also make sure to check the Expert Tips for substitutions.
Tips for making keto smoothies
You don’t need me to give you step by step directions for this one. Just plop all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Taste and adjust as you see fit.
But I do have a few tips for the best keto smoothie experience!
I like to add crushed ice to my smoothies. Since we can’t use bananas and other bulking agents on keto, some ice adds volume without contributing any carbs. Crushed ice breaks up more easily in the blender, especially if you put it at the very bottom, before adding any other ingredients. And it keeps your smoothie colder longer!
Using frozen berries rather than fresh also gives the smoothie more thickness and keeps it colder. I used frozen wild blueberries for mine.
Collagen isn’t required but it does add thickness and frothiness to all sorts of smoothies. Not to mention another nutritional boost. For this blueberry smoothie, I recommend unflavored. Vanilla overpowers the delicate blueberry flavor.
Feel free to shake up the flavors here. Try the Hibiscus Lemonade Super Reds Blend with some raspberries instead. Yum!
Substitutes for Super Reds Blend
I know many readers don’t have access to Perfect Keto products. But you can still enjoy these keto blueberry smoothies! Increase the blueberries to half a cup, and add your favorite sweetener to taste.
If you really wanted to amp up the blueberry flavor without adding carbs, you could also try a little blueberry extract. Obviously it won’t be quite the same, but it will be a healthy keto breakfast or snack nonetheless.

Hi Carolyn! Thanks for the fantastic keto blueberry smoothie recipe. It looks absolutely delicious! I was wondering if I could add spinach for an extra boost of nutrients. I saw a similar suggestion in another keto smoothie recipe (https://iketomom.com/keto-smoothie/) and thought it might work well here too. What do you think?
Carolyn says
You will need to experiment, I think.

I just noticed this recipe and can’t wait to try it. We live in Maine and one of the Maine wild blueberry growers makes local deliveries. I currently have 2 five-lb boxes of the beautiful berries in the freezer. They’re boxed so well that they last at least a year. I’m so happy when I see recipes from you that can use the frozen fruit.

Enjoy those gorgeous berries!
