Streamline your meal prep with these easy keto instant pot recipes. From breakfast to dessert, and everything in between, these 51 delicious recipes make keto a snap!
The Instant Pot® craze is still going strong, and with good reason. These multi-cookers are incredibly useful kitchen gadgets, and can cut your cook time in half or more.
They’re so much more than just pressure cookers, as they can sauté, steam, and slow cook as well. You can even turn them into an air fryer with the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid. I have this lid and it’s fantastic – it makes the crispiest keto chicken wings ever!
Instant pot recipes are enormously popular with keto dieters, as they make meal prep that much easier. They save you time and effort, which is critical to sticking with a healthy diet.

Best ways to use an Instant Pot
As useful and versatile as they are, Instant Pots do have their limitations and aren’t perfect for everything. I’ve experimented with any number of keto instant pot recipes to see what works and what doesn’t.
They are ideal for keto soups and stews, and anything that benefits from slow braising or steaming. This is where the Instant Pot shines, as it tenderizes tough meats and vegetables much faster than other cooking methods.
But they aren’t great for recipes that should have a crispy texture (unless you have the aforementioned air fryer lid). The pressure and moisture inside the pot tends to make things like chicken skin rubbery and tough.
It’s also worth noting that the pressure of the pot forces more moisture out of meats and veggies than slow cooking or oven braising. This isn’t a bad thing but it means you often need to cut down on added liquids, to avoid a soupy consistency.
Unless, of course, you are trying to make soup!
But did you know that Instant Pots are also great for making keto cakes and other keto desserts. It’s amazing what this one countertop appliance can do!

I recently bought a used instant pot viva; do you know how I can tell what size it is?
Carolyn says
Is it possible to find that model on Amazon and see what the specs are?

The Tuscan soup sounds amazing, but unless I’m missing something it doesn’t say when to add the cauliflower. What would you recommend?
Carolyn says
That’s not my recipe so I honestly couldn’t say! I was linking to another blogger. I recommend asking them.

Can your chili rellenos soup be made in the Instant Pot? Is the directions for this?
Carolyn says
I guess you will need to experiment! 🙂

Carolyn,
I need to get back on track!!!
Have been eying an Instant Pot for a while.
What size do you have?
You have a family of 5? I believe. 2 of us, but cook in quantity. As if my family were at home!
What size for your family/recipes are you using? Any other recommendations, ie, air fryer, pans.. would be greatly appreciated!
I followed you, in a dearly missed, Low Carb Neighborhood. I think one of the first recipes I printed of yours was 2011… Your recipes are the best! Taught me a lot about baking this way!
Sincerely,
Deb
Thank you, Carolyn! You have been a friend

There is actually an air fryer lid for Instant Pots that works like a dream! I love it. https://amzn.to/2Yu8cRm
Thanks for the love. You can come back and stay on track, I know you can!

I just bought my IP and love it. I have a question…do you have to thaw your meat first before cooking?

Hi Carolyn,
I have been on the fence for some time now about the air fryer lid for the instant pot. I tell myself that I’m going to buy it to save myself an “extra” appliance in the kitchen, but then I read a negative review and change my mind every time. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet on the lid or an actual air fryer. Amazon has a great deal on it now, so it would be a great time to buy. Do you really love it? Would you recommend that over an actual air fryer appliance if someone already has the instant pot? I trust your opinion!
Carolyn says
I love mine! I had the bigger Cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer. It was good… the lid for instant pot is better. Much more crisp although it holds less overall. I haven’t see the negative reviews but I always take those with a grain of salt anyway.
Carolyn says
Wow, I just checked the reviews out of curiosity.. it gets 4.5 stars overall. Clearly most people love it as I do. You’re never going to please everyone.

Super collection for the oncoming hibernation.
Thank you, Carolyn!!
