It’s hot out there – wildly, ridiculously hot. And this tasty keto frosted lemonade is your first line of defense against the blazing heat. With the sweet taste of fresh strawberries and lemons, and a rich creamy smoothness, it’s just about as refreshing as any keto treat can be!

A Healthier Frosted Lemonade Recipe
When the heat wave hits, we all crave frosty cold drinks. This easy recipe is one of our faves, along with keto popsicles and keto frappuccinos. And since it doesn’t contain any added sugars, it lacks the cloying sweetness of the Chick-Fil-A version, making it all the more thirst-quenching.
Homemade frosted lemonade usually takes a can of frozen lemonade and several scoops of ice cream. It clocks in at about 70 grams of carbs in a single beverage. Yikes! But you will be thrilled to know that this keto strawberry frosted lemonade has all the flavor and under 5 grams of carbs per serving.
Recipe Highlights
Easy to make: You do need to wait for the whipped cream to freeze, but other than that, this recipe comes together in minutes.
Wholesome ingredients: It takes only five readily available ingredients and no added sugars. And you can use whatever sweetener you like best!
Thick and creamy: Between the frozen whipped cream and the frozen berries, this sugar-free beverage comes out thick and creamy.
Bright fresh flavor: Strawberries and lemon together are tangy, sweet, and refreshing.

Ingredients and Substitutions
- Whipping cream: I use dollops of frozen whipped cream instead of ice cream, which saves money and lowers the carb count. But of course you can use store-bought keto vanilla ice cream if you prefer.
- Strawberries: Frozen strawberries make the drink a little thicker, fresh strawberries make it a bit thinner. It’s up to you which one you choose.
- Fresh lemon juice: You can’t have a frosted lemonade without lemons!
- Sweetener: You can use any sweetener you like best, but I caution against granular sweeteners as they will make it a bit gritty. Powdered or liquid works best.
- Kitchen staples: Vanilla extract and ice.
How to Make Keto Frosted Lemonade

- Whip the cream: Whip the heavy cream with the vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Freeze: Dollop large spoonfuls onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze until firm.
- Blend with berries: Add the frozen whipped cream in a large blender with the strawberries, lemon juice, and sweetener. Blend until smooth.
- Add ice: Add the ice and water and blend until well combined. Taste and add more sweetener if desired. Pour into 4 glasses and serve with a fresh berry and a slice of lemon.

Carolyn’s Tips for Success
I like using some frozen strawberries for this recipe, for a thicker consistency. If I am using fresh berries, I stick a few in the freezer along with the whipped cream. If I am using frozen berries, I let some of the thaw a bit.
Be ready to scrape down the sides of the blender, to help it blend the mixture until it’s smooth. I like to use a small silicone spatula to push some of the thick mixture toward the blades.
The consistency of this keto frosted lemonade does not rely on any particular kind of sweetener. Just avoid anything granular so you don’t get any residual grittiness.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can do that if you like, and I recommend at least 1/4 cup per glass of lemonade. However, my version saves you money and it also reduced the carb count significantly.
Yes! You can easily use coconut whipped cream in place of the dairy-whipped cream. It will increase the carb count, however.
I don’t recommend it, as the ice melts and it thins out as it sits. If you don’t need 4 servings, you can make just enough for one or two at a time. The whipped cream dollops can be frozen for several weeks.
Absolutely! Raspberries would be delicious, as would plain lemonade. Blueberries might be good too, just keep in mind that they have a higher carb count.

What is coconut whipped cream? Do I mAke or buy? This recipe is great. You are the Best Carolyn. Keep up the great work. Thanks for your help.
Hi Tina… Google “coconut whipped cream” and you will find lots of recipes. You can just replace the sweetener with Swerve.
Have not tried it yet. Why is it necessary to freeze the whipped cream, you have ice in it.
It will just be too liquidy if you don’t.
So refreshing and delicious! Perfect for Spring and Summer!

Yes, that should be fine.
Hey, Carolyn!
I can’t wait to do make this for my guys after they’ve worked hard on the farm. I have never had a frosted lemonade before, and it makes me downright thirsty. Thank you for your wonderful blog!
Really good!
Oh dear. Just made them. Well done. Delicious!!
It says puree (step2) in the direction, what is it?
Puree means to blend until smooth.
I’m going to try this, but instead of putting the whipped cream onto a parchment paper, I will put it into some ice trays I have but never seem to use for anything.
Thanks for the recipe!
