Homemade keto candy is a great way to satisfy that sweet tooth without giving in to sugary temptation. This post is updated to include even more great sugar-free candy recipes!

I have a sweet tooth and I am not afraid to use it. Some people believe a keto diet should be entirely free of sweets and treats but I am not one of those people. For me, food is not only about sustenance, but about enjoyment.

Food is more than just fuel – it’s celebration and family and living life to the fullest.

A little bit of dessert at the end of the day is the ultimate form of self care – especially when that treat is sugar-free and keto friendly. And being able to indulge a bit here and there actually keeps me on track, rather than making me want to stray.

I know many of you feel the same way. My website wouldn’t be half so popular if that weren’t the case!

Why make your own keto candy?

So many of our modern celebrations and holidays revolve around candy, and it can be very hard to avoid. Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter… candy here, candy there, candy candy everywhere. Our kids get loads of it from school and friends, and even your office has a candy bowl.

If you have a major sweet tooth, having all that candy around can be a huge source of stress. You know that stuff is awful junk and so bad for both your health and your weight loss, but it’s calling your name. The siren’s call of temptation is hard to resist.

Well, you know what the best solution for that is? Making your own keto candy, of course! And if that’s not enough to convince, you…

  1. It’s easy! Most of these keto candy recipes are super easy to make at home, with no special ingredients or equipment.
  2. It’s less expensive. These days, there are plenty of pre-packaged keto candy options but they aren’t cheap. Making your own at home will save you some money.
  3. You control the ingredients. For me, this is one of the most important reasons to make my own candy. Too often, even “keto” brands add things that really aren’t that good for us.
  4. Make it any old time. No need to run to the store when you can whip up your own healthier candy recipes!

Several years ago I had a recipe which I thought had come from your website for a candy that was very similar to Payday candy. It was simple to make and used a sweetener, a bit of agave, salted peanuts and I think a bit of heavy cream and vanilla. I made it into two rolls which I chilled and cut into small sections. I loved that recipe and now I cannot find it. Did it come from you? I see your link to a mock payday bar from Healthy Indulgences but that website doesn’t seem to be available anymore.

    Please help if you can.

    Thanks!

  2. Love this, thank you! I don’t think the Strawberry Peeps Bomb link works, looks like the website expired. Have you tried to make Fantasy Fudge, the kind with marshmallow creme? That is my absolute favorite ever!

    Hi Carolyn,
I was wondering if you have ever had success in making Chewy Caramels? I made the ones by Fit Mom Journey in your list, and the flavor was so, so, good, however, even while following the directions exactly, mine burnt way before it reached the temperature in the recipe. You work so much with Allulose, I thought I’d see if you’ve ever tried it. Thanks for any help you might be able to give!

    1. Hang tight! I have one coming, actually. I have been working hard on this and yesterday, I achieved what I think might be the perfect texture!

I own all of your books. They are very well written and east to follow. Everything I have done so far has turned out perfectly.
So my question is will or is the candy recipes already in a book that I can purchase or will it be in the future.

Thank you for all your help making our Keto eating be tasty.

    Hi Carolyn,
I have been searching for a hard candy recipe, that so far I haven’t found. When I say hard, I mean like a lemon drop. Something you can suck on for awhile. Something that might even crack a tooth! That is what I really miss. Can you come up with something, or do you know of something? Thanks so much!

    1. Sorry, I’ve not had any luck with that.

I was thinking the same thing this morning during church! I really wanted something to replace peppermints.

I seriously love all your recipes and am so grateful to you for creating them. I’ve referred quite a few people to your website and like you, I believe a nice sweet treat is a must. It got me into trouble for 50+ years but now, thanks to you, I can enjoy and still fit into my clothes

What fun! I’m trying to match a photo to a recipe and can’t seem to figure out which one goes with the peanut butter cups pictured above the Almond Joy Easter Eggs in the “Keto Candy, the BEST recipes!” Block. They look amazing!

  10. What is the picture in the lower right hand corner of your photo collage? Its really smoothe fudge-like looking squares in a glass bowl. I’ve gone through the whole list of recipe links (and printed off several of them to make later!) but I can’t seem to find that one. Thanks!
